Scientific Preparation Program

The compulsory courses in the scientific preparatory program cannot replace the courses deemed necessary to complete the related postgraduate program. However, in addition to the scientific preparation courses, a student in the scientific preparation program can take a maximum of two courses of the postgraduate program with the recommendation of the head of the related institute department and the approval of the institute administrative board.

Continuation, course exams, course grades, conditions for being successful in the courses, course repetition, deregistration and other principles related to the scientific preparation program are the same as those in the relevant graduate and postgraduate programs.

The maximum period of time in the scientific preparation program is two semesters. Summer education is not included in this period. This period cannot be extended except for the semester leave, and the student who is not successful at the end of the period is dismissed. The time spent in this program is not included in the duration of the master's or PhD program.

PhD students who are subjected to the scientific preparation program must be successful in all of the courses they have taken. Unsuccessful students are dismissed from the PhD program.

Special Studentship

Students with special status have to comply with all the conditions and fulfill the requirements of the courses they follow as full-time students.

Students already registered in a graduate program cannot be accepted as special students in the same program.

Special studentship is not an education aimed at obtaining a degree directly in the relevant program, and its duration cannot exceed two semesters.

Those who take courses in special student status cannot benefit from student rights.

If the student wishes, he/she is given a document showing his/her success for the courses he/she has taken and succeeded.

In the exemption procedures for the courses that the students take as special students and are successful, the exempted courses cannot exceed two courses per semester in the relevant postgraduate education.

Student admission through lateral transfer

The student must not have started the thesis period in order to be able to transfer..

Lateral transfer is accepted after the student's request, with the approval of the head of the relevant department and the decision of the approval of the institute administrative board.

Students who transfer to any program must take at least half of the total course credits and ECTS required by the program they are affiliated with from the courses related to the program to which they transferred.
