Application for Ph.D. Programs
Required documents for application for Ph.D. programs (for candidates who will apply with a master's degree)
(2) CV (3) Reference letter and composition Candidates who will apply to Ph.D. programs are asked for a letter of reference and a composition stating why they want to do a doctorate.
A certified copy of a bachelor's/ master's diploma or graduation certificate (equivalence certificate to be obtained from the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education for those who graduated from Higher Education Institutions in foreign countries).
Candidates whose grading systems are different from the hundredth system are required to bring an official document from the university they graduated from stating the equivalent of their grade point average in the hundredth system. The process of converting those who cannot provide to the hundredth system is done according to the system determined by the Council of Higher Education. Candidates applying to a doctoral program with a bachelor's degree must have at least 3 points out of 4 or an equivalent score from their undergraduate graduation GPA. Candidates who apply after completing their undergraduate degree while having an associate degree, must bring a combined transcript from the university they graduated from (by adjusting the courses they were successful during the associate degree education and exempted while enrolling in the undergraduate education, with the previous grades of these courses included in the transcript) in order for their applications to be considered valid.
(6) ALES (academic personnel and postgraduate education entrance exam) result Provided that the exam date has not exceeded 5 years, ALES document indicating that they have at least 55 standard points from the score type of the program they applied from the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES), provided that the exam date of those who will apply for a doctorate with a bachelor's degree does not exceed 5 years. ALES document is required from the Education Entrance Examination (ALES) indicating that they have at least 80 standard points from the point type of the program they are applying for.
In the admission of students to the doctoral program, at least 55 points from the international foreign language exams accepted as equivalent to the central foreign language exams accepted by the Higher Education Council except for their mother tongue, provided that the exam date does not exceed 5 years, or this score from the international foreign language exams whose validity period is determined by OSYM and whose equivalence is accepted. An equivalent score is required. (*) Candidates applying to doctoral programs taught in English are required to get at least 65 points from the central foreign language exams accepted by the Council of Higher Education and international foreign language exams accepted as equivalent, provided that the exam date does not exceed 5 years.

Evaluation In the admission of those who will apply to Ph.D. programs, 50% of the ALES score, 25% of the undergraduate/master's graduation grade point average, and 25% of the scientific evaluation (written and/or oral) score made by the jury are found as the result of the evaluation of the applications. In order for a candidate to be considered successful, the sum of the above-mentioned rates must be at least 70.00 points out of 100.00. Students are accepted as much as the announced quota by ranking from the highest score to the lowest.
